چکیده    Histerin schramm (hs) medium has traditonally used for culturing cellulose producing bacteria and hs medium was used in the present study to evaluate hydrodynamic behavior of a laboratory constructed airlift bioreactor (alr)# values of the gas holdup (εg) and mixing time (tm) obtained for the culture medium with those tested for air-water system in air flow rate in the range of 0#5-2#5 vvm# for the hs medium and air-water system in low air flow rate( <1#5 vvm) no significant difference was observed in εg and tm # the presence of inorganic salts in the hs medium affected to εg and tm in high air flow rate (>1#5 vvm), the εg and tm for the hs medium was 1#3 higher and 1#2 lower than air-water system respectively#
