چکیده

Increasing energy demand by people all around the world leads to rise of the greenhouse gases (ghg)# it is believed that co2 is the most potent greenhouse gas and contributes to global warming more than other ghgs# this project reports on the synthesis and characterization of meso porous carbon nitride by koh activation# the samples were used to study as adsorbents for co2 capture, and the effect of different parameters, such as various hmta/carbon ratios (1:3,1:2,1:1), various koh weight ratios, different heating temperature (600-800-900°c) and heating time (60-120 min), on surface characteristics and co2 uptake capacity of as-synthesized activated carbon was investigated# the as-synthesized samples were carefully characterized by various techniques# it was found that by decreasing activation temperature, koh/c ratio and increasing the time of reaction, micropores formed better which cause higher adsorption at 1 bar and also, increasing activation temperature, koh/c ratio will help to form mesopores, which cause higher adsorption at higher pressures# the measured uptake capacity of 4#4mmol/g at 1 bar and 25 °c by h-npc-2-600-120 was among the highest reported values in the literature data for cellulose-base activated carbons, and also co2 uptake capacity of 13#8mmol/g at 10 bar and 25 °c was achieved by h-cnp2-900#
