separation of ziziphora essence by organic and acidic solvents

There are various methods and solvents for extracting plant essences# in this study, the extraction efficiency and the type of compounds obtained from extraction of kakoti essence were evaluated by rotary evaporator by using 80% methanol, and citric acid with ph = 5#5# chemical compounds were identified by gas chromatography-coupled with mass spectrometry (gc-ms)# the extraction efficiency of the essence with methanol was 0#45%, and 22 chemical compounds were identified, which contained 4#736% pulegone# the extraction efficiency with citric acid was 0#31%, and 27 chemical compounds were identified, which contained 3#475% pulegone# the results show the separation efficiency and chemical compounds identification strongly affected by the type of solvent used#
