Emulsion treatments are one of the important processes from the environmental point of view# the process of separating the emulsion systems is very complicated# it was recognized that if the combination of surfactant-oil-water systems reaches the microemulsion type of winsor iii, it will be at the optimum formulation for separation# hld—which stands for the hydrophilic-lipophilic deviation—plays an important role in interpreting the phase behavior of microemulsion systems# in order to use the hld concept correctly, each term in its formula should be found accurately# in this work, based on a simple and accurate method the hydrophobicity of gasoline (eacn) is found and at the end, the surfactant parameter which is appropriate for demulsification of a water-gasoline emulsion is obtained#
