In this research, we have fabricated large scale graphene membrane on porous matrimide for helium/methane gas separation# graphene film was synthesized using low pressure chemical vapor deposition (lpcvd) method on the surface of a copper foil# raman analysis confirms the graphene film is mostly monolayer# the porous matrimide substrate was also directly produced on the graphene-covered copper foil using spin coating method accompanying the phase inversion process in a methanol bath and then etching away of the copper foil# we applied the prepared graphene membrane for helium separation from methane# fesem analysis implies the strong adhesion of matrimide to the graphene film owing to its net positive charge# furthermore, gas separation results reveal that after direct graphene transfer to the porous matrimide, permeance drops for both gases while the helium/methane selectivity increases by ~60%# the current work could enhance the quality of the graphene membranes for separation processes and also could pave the challengable path of the graphene transfer to polymeric substrates#
