|
In the present study, olive kernels as an agricultural solid waste were applied for the preparation of the magnetic activated carbon by chemical activation using zinc chloride as a chemical agent for the removal of methylene blue from the wastewater# the magnetizing of activated carbon was also conducted by using co-precipitation method in the presence of hydrazine# the magnetic activated carbon was characterized by the general tests including xrd, fesem and bet# xrd result indicated the formation of two various iron oxides consisting of magnetite and hematite crystallites with size of below 40 nm# mesoporous structure of prepared sample was also evaluated by employing fesem and bet analysis# the surface area of magnetic adsorbent was investigated ot be 472 m2/g# the equilibrium isotherm data indicated that the adsorption of methylene blue was proportional to the langmuir equation# the maximum adsorption was also measured to be 46#08 mg/g that shows the appropriate performance of synthesized magnetic adsorbent# thermodynamic study was also carried out and the enthalpy was calculated 73#87 kjmol-1 in the various adsorption temperature#
