In this study, methane dry reforming (mdr) reaction was studied over the ni-mgo-al2o3 and ni/mgal2o4 catalysts with 12#5 wt#% ni and different preparation methods for the production of synthesis gas# the prepared samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction (xrd), n2 adsorption/desorption (bet), temperature programmed raduction and oxidation (tpr and tpo), and scanning electron microscopy (sem) techniques# the synthesized catalysts showed high specific surface area and high catalytic activity in mdr process# the obtained results revealed that the ni-mgo-al2o3 prepared by co-precipitation method was suitable for mdr process due to the high activity and stability# however the whisker type carbon formed over this catalyst doesn’t cause deactivation during the reaction#
