   Phenol Removal From Iso-Octane By Adsorption Technique Using Lepidocrocite: Kinetic and Thermodynamic Study

چکیده    Among several removal methods, adsorption is known as an efficient and low-cost method for phenol removal# in this study, lepidocrocite (γ-feooh) was synthesized and used as new adsorbent for phenol removal from iso-octane as model liquid fuel# specific surface area (bet) analysiswas applied to characterise the adsorbent# specific surface area of lepidocrocite was about 114 m2#g-1# langmuir and freundlich isotherm models were used to analyzied the equilibrium adsorption data# pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models were used to explain the kinetics of the adsorption process# the equilibrium data were defined well with the freundlich isotherm and the adsorption kinetic data fitted fine to the pseudo-second-order model# based on the results, the chemisorption is dominant mechanism in this process and, the maximum adsorption capacity of lepidocrocite was 666 mg#g-1 at 35 °c#
