support effect on the catalytic activity of nimo catalysts during the hydrodesulfurization of thiophene and dibenzothiophene

In the present study, a series of nimo catalysts supported on alumina, bentonite and clinoptilolite was prepared and applied to the hydrodesulfurization (hds) of thiophene and dibenzothiophene# the supported catalysts were characterized by xrd analysis and the recorded profiles confirmed the formation of nimoo4 and moo3 as the crystallite phase on the supports# the hds performance of prepared catalysts was evaluated using thiophene and dibenzothiophene as model sulfur compound at 160 °c under atmospheric pressure# the thiophene hds result over nimo catalysts supported on alumina, bentonite and clinoptilolite was around 95%, 60% and 70%, respectively# the results demonstrated that the nimo/al2o3 catalyst showed higher hds activates in comparison with the activated bentonite and clinoptilolite#
