Abstract    The first case of COVID-19 in Iran was officially reported by the Iranian Government on February 19, 2020. In order to control and prevent the infection, the Government closed all the universities and requested the people to stay at home. Consequently, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), like other universities, canceled all the face-to-face classes in different schools, and since the exact date for the resolution of this calamity could not be determined, TUMS decided to proceed with the education flow through the available Learning Management System (LMS). As one of the major departments of the university in providing courses to students, the TUMS Department of Foreign Languages requested the professor and lecturers to prepare new materials by using up-to-date and available tools and upload them in the LMS for the students. To maintain and improve the quality of education, it was necessary to make some major changes in the teaching modus operandi and the assessment of students. This paper was a narrative account of the transition. It was hoped that through this narration as an example of an educational solution in the present particular situation, language instructors in schools and universities adopt and implement efficient strategies and approaches in their educational settings.
