چکیده
The current study aimed to develop a questionnaire to examine students' needs satisfaction with their esp course. the students' educational needs satisfaction questionnaire (sens) was designed based on the noel-levitz student satisfaction inventory framework. for this purpose, first, the content domain and the constructs were defined according to the existing literature, researcher observations, and ministry of science research and technology objectives for the esp courses of engineering, resulting in an 8-factor questionnaire with 82 items. then, the first draft of the questionnaire was sent to experts to confirm its face validity. afterward, the questionnaire was pilot-tested on a group of 50 iranian engineering students in order to reduce the number of items and revise them in case of obfuscation and to calculate initial reliability. the results of the pilot test led to the omission of 11 items. the pilot test results also demonstrated that the sens had a .97 and .99 cronbach's alpha coefficient which proved to be highly reliable. next, the altered questionnaire was administered to a sample of 412 iranian engineering students recruited by snowball sampling procedure to apply confirmatory factor analysis. grounded on the results obtained, we could safely claim that the sens is a valid instrument.
