|
Ever rising number of equipment exploited in various industry includes, but not limited to energy, power gridsand homes. the progression of distribution network to the smart one has raised new challenges such asreliability, enhancement of network complexity, and efficient combination and utilization of renewable energies.the concept of smart grid has been recently employed as a proper approach to face these challenges. thenetworks themselves require different hardware and software infrastructures for full implementation. smartmeters, telecommunications infrastructure with very low latency, high volume data storage servers, etc., areexamples of this plan's requirements. one of the most important issues in the smart grids is telecommunicationswith very low latency. providing high-speed data transmission network is a preliminary action to use internet ofthings (iot) systems in the smart grids. the fifth generation of mobile networks (5g) as state-of-the-arttechnology is proposed for smart grid. this paper concentrate on using 5g technology in smart grid to decreaselatency of communication.
