According to the new environmental regulations in many countries, the maximum amount of sulfur in thefuel is limited to 10 ppm, to achieve this amount, desulfurization of the fuel is necessary. the oxidativedesulfurization process under mild operating conditions can remove resistant sulfur compounds from dieselfuel. in this study, first the modification of the natural zeolite base of ferrierite by base washing method onthe performance of catalysts was investigated using this support and then the effect of adding mo and wpromoters supported on ferrierite was evaluated and the structural properties of the catalyst were evaluated.syntheses were compared using xrd, ftir and fesem. comparison of ni catalysts supported on ferrieritewithout modification and modified by base washing method showed that base washing increased theconversion rate from 74.4% to 86% and with the addition of molybdenum and tungsten promoters theconversion rate increased to 89.8% and 92.6%, respectively. also, the results of the analyzes showed thatbase washing reduces the crystallinity, increases the porosity, increases the specific surface area anddecreases the si/al ratio.
