جغرافیای تاریخی اردبیل (از ورود اسلام تا تاسیس حکومت صفویه)

شهر اردبیل جایگاه ویژه‌ای در تحولات ایالت آذربایجان و کشور ایران داشته است. اردبیل در سده‌های اولیۀ هجری مرکز ایالت آذربایجان بود، به همین خاطر موردتوجه جغرافی‌دانان جهان اسلام قرارگرفته و آن‌ها به جنبه‌های مختلف جغرافیای تاریخی این شهر اشاره‌کرده‌اند. مقالۀ حاضر بر آن است تا جغرافیای تاریخی اردبیل را با استفاده از متون جغرافیایی بر پایۀ روش توصیفی- تحلیلی و با استفاده از داده‎های کتابخانه‌ای بررسی و تبیین کند. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که شهر اردبیل یکی از قدیمی‌ترین شهرهای آذربایجان است و نه‌تنها در دورهای پیش از اسلام، بلکه در دوره‌های بعد از اسلام نیز به‌عنوان یکی از بزرگ‌ترین و مهم‌ترین شهرهای منطقه آذربایجان به‌حساب می‌آمده و نقش مرکزیت را در این منطقه ایفا می‌کرده است. همچنین با بررسی شرایط طبیعی حاکم بر اردبیل ازجمله آب‌وهوا، مشخص گردید که نوع آب‌وهوای غالب در اردبیل که آب‌وهوایی سرد و خشک بوده و این منطقه را به یکی از سردترین نقاط ایران تبدیل کرده بود در کنار موقعیت جغرافیایی بر جنبه‌های مختلف زندگی در این شهر تاثیر گذاشته و نقش مهمی در حیات سیاسی، اقتصادی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی شهر داشت.

historical geography of ardabil(from the arrival of islam to the establishment of the safavid government)

ardabil city has had a special place in the developments of azerbaijan and iran. ardabil was the capital of azerbaijan state in the first centuries of hijri, that is why it has been noticed by the geographers of the islamic world and they have pointed out various aspects of the historical geography of this city. the present article aims to investigate and explain the historical geography of ardabil using geographical texts based on the descriptive-analytical method and using library data. the findings of the research show that ardabil city is one of the oldest cities in azerbaijan and not only in the pre-islamic eras, but also in the post-islamic eras, it was considered one of the largest and most important cities in the azerbaijan region and played a central role in this region. also, by examining the natural conditions governing ardabil, including the weather, it was found that the type of weather prevailing in ardabil, which was cold and dry and turned this region into one of the coldest places in iran, along with the geographical location, had an effect on various aspects of life in this city. and played an important role in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the city.
