جغرافیا و زیبایی: تحلیلی بر معیارهای زیبایی زنان از دیدگاه ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار و تغییرات آن با مسافرت‌های خارجی

هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی معیارهای زیبایی زنان از دیدگاه ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار است. جامعۀ پژوهش، کلیۀ متون و اسناد تاریخی مربوط به ناصرالدین‌شاه قاجار به‌خصوص خاطرات و دست‌نوشته‌های وی است. نمونه پژوهش متون مربوط به نظرات و دیدگاه‌های ناصرالدین‌شاه نسبت به زن‌ها بود. روش پژوهش کیفی به‌صورت توصیفی تحلیلی است. با استفاده از روش اسنادی و کتابخانه‌ای اطلاعات جمع‌آوری شد و سپس داده‌های به‌دست‌آمده تحلیل شدند. نتایج نشان داد که دورۀ قاجار زن‌های حرم‌سرای ناصرالدین‌شاه برای داشتن چهره زیبا و دل‌فریب به سبک و سیاق خاصی رفتار می‌نمودند و یکی از وظایف مهم آن‌ها آراستن خود برای شاه قاجار بود. گاهی بر طبق میل شاه قاجار و گاهی با رسوم جامعه، خود را می‌آراستند. برخی از ویژگی‌های زیبایی مثل دوره‌های پیشین بود و بعضی نیز بدیع و مختص دوره خودشان بود. آن‌ها از ابزارهای مختلفی برای زیباتر شدن خودشان استفاده می‌کردند، یکی از دغدغه‌های مهم زن‌های ناصرالدین‌شاه آن بود که خوش‌چهره و زیباتر از بقیه زن‌ها باشند و موردپسند شاه قرار گیرند. موهای بلند و سیاه، پوست سفید، چاقی، چشمان مخمور و کشیده، قدبلند، ابروهای به‌هم‌پیوسته و پهن، ظاهر تمیز و آراسته، دندان سالم و سبیل از موارد اصلی زیبایی زنان از دیدگاه ناصرالدین‌شاه بود. با سفرهای ناصرالدین‌شاه به اروپا و آشنایی وی با زنان غربی، اندک تغییری در این معیارها ایجاد شد، اما نظرات اصلی وی برای زیبایی زن‌ها که برگرفته از فرهنگ جامعۀ ایران بود، تغییر چندانی نکرد.

geography and beauty: an analysis of women’s beauty standards from the point of view of naser al-din shah qajar and its changes with foreign travels

the aim of the present research is to investigate the criteria of women’s beauty from the point of view of naser al din shah qajar. the research community is all historical texts and documents related to naser al din shah qajar, especially his memoirs and manuscripts. the research sample was the texts related to the opinions and views of naser al din shah towards women. the qualitative research method is descriptive analytical. information was collected using documentary and library methods, and then the obtained data were analyzed. the results showed that during the qajar era, the women of naser al din shah’s harem behaved in a special style to have a beautiful and attractive face, and one of their important tasks was to adorn themselves for the qajar king. sometimes they decorate themselves according to the wishes of shah qajar and sometimes according to the customs of the society. some of the beauty features were similar to previous periods and some were original and specific to their period. they used various tools to make themselves more beautiful, one of the important concerns of naser al din shah’s women was to be beautiful and more beautiful than other women and to be liked by the king. long and black hair, white skin, obesity, droopy and long eyes, tall, wide and connected eyebrows, clean and well groomed appearance, healthy teeth and mustache were among the main aspects of women’s beauty from naser al din shah’s point of view. with naser al din shah’s travels to europe and his familiarity with western women, there was a slight change in these standards, but his main views on the beauty of women, which were derived from the culture of iranian society, did not change much.
