صورة شیوخ العربان قراءة فی النصوص الشعبیة الشفَهیة المصریة

یدرس هذا البحث صورة البدوی وشیوخ العربان فی الموروث الشعبی، من خلال استقراء وتحلیل عینة مختارة من النصوص الشعبیة الشفَهیة المتداولة، مثل العدیدِ واغانی الافراح وغیرها من النصوص، وتهدف هذه الدراسة الى الوقوف على الصور المعقدة والغامضة للبدو فی مصر، ورصد کیف رسم الوجدان الجماعی المصری صورة شیخ العرب فی التراث الشفهی الشعبی، ویرکز البحث ایضا على التعارض بین تلک الصورة وبین الصور النمطیة السالبة التی ترکها لنا التاریخ الرسمی عن العربان فی مصر. رسم المورخون العرب والمستشرقون صورا متناقضة وملتبسة للعرب والعربان الذین سکنوا مصر او عبروا بها فی فترات تاریخیة متعددة، وقد ترک لنا المورخون والمستشرقون کتابات کثیرة تصف نوعا من العنجهیة مع الشعوب والحضارات القدیمة و کیف خاضت هذه القبائل نزاعا وصراعا ثقافیا طویلا مع الشعوب الزراعیة المستقرة وامتد هذا الصراع بین البداوة والعمران فی فترات تاریخیة طویلة، رسم البعض صورة بالغة السواد لمظالم العربان وفسادهم فی ارض مصر ،کذلک کانت ملاحظات الکثیر من المستشرقین ترکز على الجور و المظالم التی ترتکبها جماعات البدو مع الفلاح المصری، لکن على العکس من ذلک انتج التراث الشفهی الشعبی صورا مغایرة للعربان فی مصر، وعبرت الثقافة الشعبیة المصریة بشکل اکثر تسامحا وترحیبا بوجود العنصر العربی فی النسیج الثقافی والاجتماعی المصری، کما ان صورة شیخ العرب فی الوجدان الجماعی الشعبی لم تکن سلبیة بالضرورة، بل کانت محاطة بالتقدیر والتقدیس احیانا اخرى. وفی ذلک البحث اقوم باستقراء بعض النصوص الشعبیة الشفاهیة من عدید واغانی وامثال، بغرض تحلیل تلک النصوص المتداولة ودراسة معالم صورة العربان فی الثقافة الشعبیة المصریة، وکیف رسم الوجدان الجماعی المصری صورة شیخ العرب فی التراث الشعبی وکیف ان تلک الصورة تبدو متناقضة مع الصور النمطیة والسالبة التی ترکها لنا التاریخ الرسمی عن الصراع السیاسی والاجتماعی بین الفلاحین و العربان فی مصر.

The image of Sheikh of the Arabs in the Egyptian popular imagination

This paper will investigate the image of Bedouins and the ldquo;Bedouin Chiefs rdquo; through analyzing selected traditional oral lyrics, folk wedding songs and mourning chants. The main goal of this study is to capture the conflicted image of Bedouin tribes in the Egyptian folk tradition, fathoming how the Egyptian collective unconscious preserved the portrayal of the Bedouin Chief reflected in oral folk tradition. I will also focus on the differences between that image and the stereotypical one dominating by European orientalists. Classical Arab historians and European orientalist explorers have portrayed Arab Bedouin tribes known as badw or Arab tribes, who settled or migrated across Egypt and North Africa throughout various historical periods equivocally and aporetically. Historians and Western scholars have imparted multiple accounts and vivid descriptions of these settled Arab tribes. They depict the long cultural bitter conflict between urban lifestyles and traditional Bedouin culture and epitomize the polarization and conflict between urbanized and nomadic culture. They associated negative images towards Bedouins. Many historians and Western scholars Reflect Egyptian peasants or the conflict between peasants and Arab Bedouin tribes in Egypt. Contrary to these historical observations, the portrayal of Bedouin Chiefs in the popular collective unconscious and oral tradtions was not necessarily negative but was rather imbued with respect in many instances and with idolization in others. I argue that the Egyptian folk tradition was more tolerant to and welcoming of the Arab or Bedouin tribes the Egyptian cultural and social mosaic. My critical analysis will define the characteristics of of Bedouin Chiefs rdquo;, and will investigate the image of Bedouins and the ldquo;Bedouin Chiefs rdquo; through analyzing selected traditional oral lyrics, folk wedding songs and mourning chants.
