چکیده    Utilization of micro-devices in separation processes due to their simplicity, superior efficiency, and ease of scale-up have been noticed in recent years. even though, stability of flow pattern in the microchannels has a significant effect on the separation efficiency. experimental and numerical study was carried out to characterize the flow pattern of extractive desulfurization of diesel fuel and dimethylformamide (dmf) in a circular microchannel with inner diameter of 0.79 mm. the volume of fluid (vof) method was employed to computational fluid dynamics (cfd) simulations and the numerical results were validated with experimental data. the results showed that the flow pattern of two-phase flow in microchannel depends upon fluid flow rate and contact angle.
