absorber column hydraulic analysis in a natural gas sweetening plant

Acid gases are the main inappropriate components in a natural gas stream, these compounds should be removed from natural gas before consumption. there are many methods of acid gas removal from a natural gas stream; amine scrubbing in tray towers is a mature and most used method in gas sweetening. absorber columns usually have some operation issues, which causes to column can’t operate properly. with hydraulic analysis tool which is available in aspen hysys we can investigate hydraulic behavior of absorber column to identify operation problems. in this study, we simulate a common sweetening plant in aspen hysys v 12.1 and fix its operating problems with some column internal modifications.
