The present paper focused on architecture students' learning styles based on felder and silverman’s learning style (ils) and evaluated correlations between students' learning styles and academic performance in theoretical lessons of the first year of bachelor of architecture. this descriptive-analytical research was conducted according to a cross-sectional methodology in 2018. results showed that students tend to be more active, sensing, and visual learners. there was a significant positive correlation between visual learning styles and “perspective geometry” lesson scores of students. however, there were no significant correlations between scores of other lessons, “building materials”, “statics”, “strength of materials”, “world architecture” with students learning styles. different methods of teaching theoretical courses based on students' learning styles were discussed. finally, was expressed that the combination methods can be the best with keeping the allocated percentage in any method according to the percentage of students in each learning styles dimensions in the classroom.
