As the world is becoming more digital and communication-mediated by smart technologies, in addition according to the fact that learning vocabulary is an essential part of mastering a language and it is the thing students, teachers, materials developers, and researchers can all agree upon. therefore, in this study mobile assisted language learning is used to achieve vocabulary. this paper investigates the efficiency of using mobile technology for vocabulary learning in english as a foreign language (efl) classroom of 30 female students at one semester, in a school located in ardebil province. specifically, the study aims to explore the role of this new integrated method in enhancing the efl learners’ vocabulary development. by using an independent application, prospect app, installed on participants’ mobile phones or tablets, an experimental research design was used in this study. the students were asked and encouraged to implement the mobile application to vocabulary learning. a pretest was employed to construct the baseline data. during the treatment, prospect app and posttest were used. the findings revealed that using the mobile application, improved the participants’ vocabulary
