chose airport from multiple airports cities, case study of tehran

In recent years, an increasing number of air travelers, as well as the expansion of cities, has caused major problems for major airports, especially in big cities. therefore, the knowledge of how to air travelers select airports, and analysis of those behaviors for air travel planning, future policies, and airport development is very important. in this paper, we try to compare the modeling results of airport selection by passengers of imam khomeini international airport with passengers of mehrabad airport (in tehran) by using binary logit model. for this purpose, a survey conducted in the summer of 2018 for 8 days. total number of questionnaires for imam khomeini and mehrabad airport was 240 and 681 respectively. surveys in the form of stated preference (sp) have carried out as the interview of the imam khomeini and mehrabad airports passengers. finally, the model showed that the results of modeling for two mentioned airports are somewhat different; therefore, some factors such as the experience of using the airport in the past, the age of passengers and their monthly income, were significant. however, factors such as facilities of the airport, as well as ground access quality, were effective to choose the airport by passengers of two airports.
