a comment on weak disposability in non-parametric analysis

The economic concept of weak and strong disposability has long dominated studies on dea (data envelopment analysis) environmental assessment. in particular, this study is interested in the concept of weak disposability. because the concept is believed to have an analytical capability to measure the efficiency of decision making units(dmus). this comment revisits the original weak disposability model by shepard technology. also, this article redefines an alternative model underlying the original model. this study finds that the proposed model outperforms the original one under weak disposability axioms. furthermore, the number of efficient units and the average efficiencies are lower than in original model. a numerical example is used to shed a light on the applicability of the proposed model.
