چکیده    The toxic metals which cause the environmental pollution rise from industries, agricultural industry and waste removal from several sources. many industries such as mining operations and battery industry waste containing heavy metal ions. the perseverance and toxicity have an important role in heavy metal removal researches. the side effects of the heavy metals can cause a serious disease such as, accumulative poisoning, cancer, and brain damage. because of these harmful effects of this heavy metal, researchers made some efforts to decontaminate of heavy metals such as cd, pb, cu, ni and hg which are very important for the environmental remediation. in this paper we present easy and effective techniques to eliminate the heavy metal in maximum capacity. adsorption method has been verified to be an outstanding method for waste water. due to the adsorbent, adsorption can be now known as a low cost, effective and economic method for the removal of heavy metals in waste water. the low cost adsorbents with high adsorption capacities are still under improvement to reduce the adsorbent consumption and minimize removal difficulties respectively. in this research, we synthesize the carbon nano tubes from the natural gas via chemical vapor deposition (cvd) method. after cnt synthesis, the cooh- functionality is added to the surface of the synthesized cnt. the average size of the cnts are about 15-30 nm. the batch adsorption experiment was carried out by optimization the 3 adsorption process parameters. these parameters are such as adsorbent loading, temperature and influent concentration. the capacity of the synthesized adsorbent is about 231 mg/g. the obtained optimized parameters are 25 c for temperature, 1.2 g for adsorbent dosage and 100 ppm for the initial concentration of the heavy metal as adsorbate. the isotherm and adsorption kinetic studies are done and the langmuir model and pseudo second order are well fitted the isotherm and kinetic study respectively.
