معیارهای اجتماعی در نام‌گذاری‌ کشورهای آسیایی

پژوهش حاضر درصدد است در چارچوب اصول نام شناسی و با استفاده از دو معیار زبان‌شناختی به بررسی جای نام کشورهای آسیایی بپردازد. معیار نخست به شناسایی عوامل موثر در نام‌گذاری هر کشور اختصاص دارد، از جمله تاثیرات سیاسی، اجتماعی، جغرافیایی، مذهبی و سایر جنبه‌ها که نقش مهمی در شکل‌گیری این نام‌ها داشته‌اند. معیار دوم به نحوۀ ورود این جای‌نام‌ها به زبان فارسی معیار در ایران می‌پردازد و بررسی می‌کند که این نام‌ها از چه طریقی در زبان فارسی رایج شده‌اند. برای نیل به اهداف پژوهش، پیکرۀ پژوهش شامل 43 جای نام از کشورهای آسیایی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. نتایج پژوهش در مورد معیار نخست نشان داد که از میان 9 عامل، نام قوم یا قبیله و ویژگی های جغرافیایی تاثیرگذارترین عوامل محسوب می شود؛ زیرا مجموعا 14 کشور براساس نام قوم یا قبیله و 13 کشور براساس ویژگی جغرافیایی نام گذاری شده اند. علاوه بر این، عواملی همچون جهت جغرافیایی، سلسلۀ پادشاهی، ویژگی مردمان، شخص، مکان مذهبی، خدایان و حیوان نیز در نام‌گذاری کشورهای آسیایی دخیل هستند. نتایج مربوط به معیار دوم نشان داد که قرض‌گیری مهم‌ترین عامل در کاربرد جای‌نام کشورهای آسیایی در فارسی محسوب می‌شود، زیرا جای‌نام 28 کشور براساس فرایند قرض‌گیری مستقیم در فارسی کاربرد دارند. علاوه بر قرض‌گیری، فرایندهای ابداع و ترجمۀ قرضی نیز در نحوۀ کاربرد این جای‌نام‌ها در فارسی نقش دارند.

the study of proper names is one of the interesting areas in the humanities. as stated by zandi & ahmadi (2016. p,102) the study of proper names is considered by researchers in different fields such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, anthropology, literature, translation studies, history, archaeology, and cultural studies. onomastics is a subfield of social linguistics which focuses on the study of proper names from a linguistic perspective. the present study investigates the asian toponyms based on two linguistic criteria. the first criterion is the primary factor in naming asian countries; in other words, we try to determine the different factors of the asian toponyms including social, political, geographical, and religious factors, among others. the second criterion is related to persian equivalences of asian toponyms. in this part, the word formation processes which are used for naming asian countries in persian will be investigated. studying asian toponyms from an etymological and translational perspective would provide considerable information not only for linguists and translators but also for the researchers in geography, history and inter-cultural studies.methodthe present study is a descriptive-analytical one in which data collection is conducted by exploring the united nation official website (un.org/dgacm/en/content/regional-groups) and also the reliable website of geographical information (worldometers.info). the corpus of this study consists of 43 asian country names. it is worthwhile to mention that south and north korea are considered as a single toponym in this research, due to the main goal of focusing on core meaning of country name. the south and north in these countries are used for showing the geographical direction of them. the study was done in two steps. in the first phase, the social factors pf country names based on the agyekum (2006) was extracted and then a typological hierarchy is presented for main factors in the 43 asian country names. in the second phase, the persian equivalents of international country names are analyzed from the word-formation point of view and a typological hierarchy is presented too. as it is clear, the present study does not want to present only etymological information about the names of asian countries, rather it wants to concentrate on different factors affecting this naming. due to this, different sources were studied to find relevant information about the main reasons of asian countries; names. at the end, the concise oxford dictionary of the world place-names (everett-heath, 2020) is the main base of the present study for typological hierarchy of factors affecting asian countries; names.
