جدایی بحرین از ایران با تکیه بر اسناد خارج گردیده از دسته بندی محرمانه بریتانیا

پس از درگذشت شاه عباس صفوی، انگلستان از اوضاع آشفته خلیج فارس سوء استفاده نمود و به بهانه برقراری امنیت در این منطقه ‌حضور پیدا کرد و با بستن پیمان نامه هایی با شیوخ عرب خلیج فارس از جمله شیخ بحرین، موفق گردید تا آنان را تحت کنترل درآورد و این منطقه را به پایگاهی برای رسیدن به اهداف خود مبدل نماید. بحرین در طول تاریخ، به دلیل بهره مندی از موقعیت استراتژیکی و اقتصادی اهمیت داشته و از زمان هخامنشیان در تصرف ایران بوده است. اما انگلستان منطقه مزبور را با موافقت محمدرضا پهلوی و پشتیبانی سازمان ملل در سال 1971م.، ‌رسماً از خاک ایران جدا کرد. اما بر اساس اسناد دفتر امورخارجه انگلستان که از رده بندی سری، خارج گردیده‌اند، مشخص شده که جداسازی بحرین از ایران که ظاهری قانونی داشته، ‌توطئه‌ای بیش نبوده است. سوال اصلی این پژوهش این است که چرا محمدرضاشاه به طور ناگهانی از ادعای حاکمیت ایران بر بحرین منصرف شد؟ با مطالعه این رخداد تاریخی-سیاسی، می‌توان به ‌حقایق پشت پرده آن پی برد. نتیجه ای که از این پژوهش حاصل می‌گردد این است که شگردهای استعمار در جهان امروز را بهتر تشخیص دهیم تا بتوانیم هوشیارانه تر عمل کنیم. مقاله حاضر در نظر دارد تا با توجه به ماهیت موضوع، به روش توصیفی-تحلیلی با تکیه بر مستندات و با استفاده از منابع دست اول و تحقیقاتی که عمدتاً کتابخانه ای و اسنادی می باشند، فرآیند جداسازی بحرین از ایران را مورد بررسی قرار دهد.
