The combination of acute myocardial infarction (ami) and acute ischemic stroke (ais) represents an extraordinary and multifaceted clinical emergency, commonly referred to as cardiocerebral infarction (cci). providing optimal care in this scenario is hindered by the inherent dilemma of balancing the urgency of treating either ami or ais, which can lead to unnecessary delays in addressing the concomitant condition. a 56-year-old female patient was urgently transported to the emergency department, complaining of chest pain that had lasted for seven hours, which was soon followed by hemiparesis. subsequent diagnostic assessments, including an ecg, brain ct, and percutaneous coronary intervention (pci), facilitated the diagnosis of cci. the concurrent manifestation of ami and ais is exceedingly uncommon and under-researched, often resulting in a poor prognosis if left unaddressed in a timely manner. the expedient determination of revascularization modalities and sequences for both conditions is crucial in order to avert the risk of forgoing therapeutic interventions during their respective critical windows. effective management of this medical emergency necessitates the collaborative efforts of a cardiologist specializing in minimally invasive treatments and a specialist in neurovascular interventions.
