The management of tb lymphadenitis involves a comprehensive approach that includes a standard anti-tuberculosis treatment (att) regimen, typically extending over nine months. while att is effective in treating this form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, the occurrence of drug hypersensitivity reactions—affecting approximately 4-6% of patients—poses significant challenges. these reactions may range from minor skin irritation to severe symptoms such as stevens-johnson syndrome (sjs) and anaphylaxis. prompt identification and management of hypersensitivity are essential to ensure patient safety and adherence to treatment. effective strategies include the immediate cessation of the offending drug, symptomatic treatment, and consideration of alternative therapeutic options. this dual approach emphasizes the importance of monitoring for adverse reactions and adjusting treatment protocols accordingly to optimize patient outcomes in tb lymphadenitis management.
