Blount's disease, a progressive condition affecting tibial bone growth, leads to lower limb deformities. this study evaluates postoperative functional, radiographic, and anthropometric outcomes in blount's disease patients who underwent corrective surgery at dr. soetomo general academic hospital (2019-2024). using a retrospective observational design, 14 patients (20 limbs) were analyzed. preoperative and postoperative data, including tibiofemoral angle (tfa), mechanical distal femoral angle (mda), and pediatric outcomes data collection instrument (podci) scores, were assessed. the findings revealed significant radiographic improvements post-surgery, with mean tfa improving from -37° ± 19° preoperatively to 3° ± 13° postoperatively. mda decreased from 34° ± 16° to 14° ± 11°. functional outcomes measured by podci averaged 36 ± 12, with greater tfa corrections linked to better scores. anthropometric analysis showed 78.6% of patients were obese, affecting biomechanical stress and disease progression. height classification significantly predicted outcomes, with taller patients demonstrating the highest improvements. bivariate and multivariate analyses identified age at surgery, preoperative tfa, follow-up duration, and height as critical predictors of functional recovery. younger patients exhibited better adaptability, emphasizing the importance of early intervention. despite notable improvements, the study's small sample size and advanced deformity cases limit generalizability. corrective surgery effectively enhances mechanical alignment and functional outcomes in blount's disease patients. when a patient is earlier diagnosed with blount's and the sooner intervention is performed, the outcome will be better. therefore, further longitudinal studies with larger cohorts are recommended to refine treatment protocols.
