   wandering spleen pedicle knotting small and large bowel causing intestinal obstruction: a very rare case report

چکیده    Wandering spleen (ws) is very rare condition defined by the weakening or absence of one or more of the ligaments and loose long vascular pedicle of spleen.this report was conducted to describe total bowel obstruction led by very rare condition called wscase report: a 18-year-old woman presented to our emergency department with total bowel obstruction. patient underwent open total splenectomy and patient was discharged on fourth day without any post operative complication. wandering spleen its very rare condition of spleen anatomical disturbance. the incidence ws about less than 0.2% case. the etiology of wandering spleens in women aged 20 to 40 is an acquired tissue laxity related to pregnancy. children with congenital atresia of the dorsal mesogastrium may developed wandering spleen. from an asymptomatic accidental discovery on imaging or during surgical exploration for other surgical conditions to a symptoms that mimics an acute abdomen, the wandering spleen may present in a wide range of condition. management of ws is mandatory for surgery such as splenopexy or splenectomy depending on the condition of patient with ws. the wandering spleen its very tricky condition due to nonspecific and vast ranging symptoms from asymptomatic to severe life threatening condition. surgical intervention either splenopexy or splenectomy its mandatory.
