nail disorders after cast immobilization: report a case and review the neglected syndrome

Cast immobilization is a widely used method in orthopedics, aiming to immobilize bones in an anatomical position, related to bone fractures or even tendon and ligament injuries. casting complications may be mentioned as compartment syndrome, impaired circulation/nerve function, and other effects. in particular, complications of nail disorders after casting immobilization on the forearm are uncommon occurrence, and not fully understood can easily lead to misguided or excessive clinical interventions. reports on this disorder are limited, and the mechanism has not been clearly explained. this srudy examined a case of severe nail disorder after a forearm cast due to a fracture of the two bones in the right forearm.
