Lactiplantibacillus plantarum is-10506 is one of the probiotic strains that has potential benefits for health and dermatological applications. bacterial lysate derived from this strain contains bioactive metabolites that potentially contribute to health, immune modulation, and anti-aging properties. nevertheless, the filtration process might affect the metabolomic profile, influencing the functional properties. the comparison of metabolomic profiles was performed using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (uhplc) coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (hrms). metabolite differences were analyzed using sparse partial least squares discriminant analysis (spls-da), variable importance in projection (vip) scores, and volcano plots. there were 107 metabolites in the lysate and 111 metabolites in the filtered lysate. significant metabolite differences were observed, with 3-phosphoglycerate standing out as the main metabolite differentiating both preparations. dl-lactic acid had a higher concentration in the filtered lysate, while hyaluronic acid and lipoteichoic acid had higher concentrations in the lysate. this study demonstrated that the processing method, in this case, filtration, could influence the metabolomic profile of l. plantarum is-10506 lysate. it is expected that the findings will help augment probiotics-based products, especially for dermatological applications.
