   dynamics of heart performance in patients with cervical cancer using neoadjuvant polychemotherapy

چکیده    Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide. this study aimed to evaluate the functional capabilities of the cardiovascular system in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer undergoing neoadjuvant polychemotherapy. a total of 192 patients were included, divided into two groups: group 1 (n=102) received standard neo-adjuvant polychemotherapy, while group 2 (n=90) received neo-adjuvant polychemotherapy supplemented with the antioxidant neurox. cardiovascular assessments were performed on the first, eighth, and fourteenth days of treatment, as well as immediately prior to surgery. electrocardiogram (ecg) and echocardiography were utilized to measure parameters including the left atrium and left ventricle dimensions during relaxation, left ventricular end-systolic and end-diastolic volumes, ejection fraction, and cardiac index. the results demonstrated that the addition of neurox significantly improved cardiovascular function during preoperative polychemotherapy, as evidenced by statistically significant improvements in key functional parameters (p<0.05). the neurox group exhibited reduced functional disturbances of the cardiovascular system, which facilitates better preparation for subsequent surgical resection and postoperative radiotherapy. these findings suggest that neurox is an effective adjunct in managing cardiovascular risks during neoadjuvant therapy in cervical cancer patients.
