robotic assissted cystectomy and lymphadenectomy in patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy: a case series

The objective of this study is to present a case series of 13 patients investigating the outcomes of radical cystectomy following neoadjuvant chemotherapy. the study aims to assess the effectiveness, recurrence rate, and incidence of complications associated with this treatment paradigm, with an emphasis on patients presenting with hematuria as the primary clinical manifestation.13 patients were the participants of this study who underwent cystectomy using robotic surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy were comprehensively analyzed. the primary focus was on evaluating the therapeutic efficacy, recurrence rates, and complications post-surgery. we focused specifically on optimizing neoadjuvant chemotherapy in conjunction with surgical interventions, including lymph node resection of the iliac artery.following the application of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radical cystectomy with lymphadenectomy, the study demonstrated a notably low recurrence rate, with only one case exhibiting during follow-up, only one out of seven patients experienced a recurrence (14.3%). furthermore, complications post-treatment was limited, occurring in only two out of seven cases (28.6%). the clinical manifestation at the initiation of the study for all cases were hematuria.the study findings underscore the promising outcomes associated with the utilization of robotic radical cystectomy in conjunction with neoadjuvant chemotherapy in a subset of clinically suitable patients. this study suggests that this combined therapeutic approach is associated with a low recurrence rate and minimal complications. these positive results warrant further exploration and consideration for the refinement and optimization of treatment protocols in the management of patients with bladder cancer.
