چکیده

Melatonin, a hormone primarily produced by the pineal gland, and to a lesser extent by other cells, during pregnancy. melatonin has been found to influence fat metabolism during pregnancy”. this study examined how sleep issues in pregnant women affect melatonin levels.three sets of 155 samples from expectant mothers were studied. pregnant women in the first three months (the first, the second, and the third months of pregnancy) correspond to the first group, while pregnant women in the fourth, fifth, and sixth months made up the second group, whereas the third group consisted of expectant mothers in the last months (the seventh, the eighth, and the ninth months). we studied the effect a low concentration of the secreted hormone by the pineal gland had on the regulation of biochemical parameters during each stage of pregnancy and the completion of pregnancy. serum concentrations of cholesterol, triglycerides, hdl, ldl, and vldl were determined. a rise in cholesterol concentrations throughout the phases of pregnancy was observed at a significant level of p = 0.05, with a difference between the first and final stages of pregnancy. triglycerides’ concentration also displayed an increase over the study period. as the pregnancy progressed, there were no significant variations in hdl, ldl, or vldl contents as compared to the control group.
