چکیده    Decay can develop at any point throughout lifetime. matcha tea contains significant amounts of minerals; it had the highest concentration of fluoride among other types of tea. this in vitro study aimed to compare the effect of green tea and matcha on re-mineralizing enamel caries-like lesions. in this in vitro study, forty intact premolar teeth [extracted for orthodontic treatment] were collected; acrylic resin was poured into sliced plastic rings. in the middle of the ring, teeth crowns were placed, with the labial surface visible. a 4x4 mm window was prepared for measurements. samples were placed into tubes contains 20 ml of de-mineralizing solution for 72 hours to produce demineralization. afterwards, they were randomly separated into four categories. group 1: deionized water, group 2: sodium fluoride solution, group 3: matcha solution; and group 4: green tea solution; ten teeth in each group. samples were soaked in 20 ml of the tested solution for four minutes. the processes were performed daily for one week. samples were evaluated using a vicker hardness testing machine. a significant difference was found between baselines followed by after treatment [p < 0.05] except with de-ionized water. a non-significant difference was found between the tested group: green tea was showing the highest mean value [107.101], followed by matcha [104.213] and sodium fluoride [92.524]. a significant difference was found when compared these groups with deionized water. there was no significant difference between matcha and green tea.
