چکیده    The study focuses elucidating the prospect of urtica dioica (stinging nettle) and vitamin e in managing diabetes in an experimental rat model. urtica dioica often known as common nettle, burn nettle, stinging nettle (although not all plants of this species sting) or nettle leaf, or just a nettle or stinger. in the experiment, rats made diabetic were divided in 3 groups; the first one given urtica dioica extract, the second group (metformin group) was administered the conventional drug metformin, while the third group (group combining urtica dioica and vitamin e) was given a combination of the traditional medication metformin with vitamin and compared with control group  then determination the fasting blood sugar with serum insulin  and ketone body with histological evaluation to  the effect of this natural plant when added to vitamin e. the results were notable as significant reduction of fasting blood sugar was observed in the urtica dioica and in combination group which was as commanded as metformin in its action and ketone body levels decrease. thus, the current trends can be interpreted as of potential advantages in managing diabetic metabolic disorders. the current investigation may contribute to expanding our knowledge of urtica dioica and its potential benefits in the management of diabetes mellitus.
