Advancements in technology have made flexible wearable sensors crucial in healthcare, enabling real-time vital sign monitoring and easier chronic disease management. this study provides a comprehensive overview of the emerging field of flexible wearable sensors based on anisotropic fillers and discusses their revolutionary potential in the field of healthcare monitoring. by introducing directional electrical, mechanical, and thermal qualities to sensor substrates, anisotropic fillers, including conductive nanoparticles, nanowires, and fibers, provide significant advantages over traditional isotropic sensors. we provide a detailed account of the various anisotropic filler types and the methods used to incorporate them into the flexible substrates. biomechanical monitoring is an area where these sensors have proven useful in healthcare; it has allowed for more accurate measurements of gait, posture, and joint health. bio-potential sensing has been improved, allowing for more precise diagnosis of neurological and cardiac disorders, and sensitive and specific chemical sensing is made possible, among other uses. anisotropic filler-based sensors, data analytics, and artificial intelligence for real-time health monitoring are only some of the topics covered, along with the current obstacles and potential future developments. this study highlights the revolutionary impact of flexible wearable sensors based on anisotropic fillers, highlighting their potential for personalized medicine, remote patient care, and overall improvements in healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
