جستاری تطبیقی بر داستان‌های «سیاوش» و «اتللو»

تفاوت نگاه انسان‌ها به جهان، ضرورت مطالعه در آثار ادبی را دو چندان می‌کند تا از این رهگذر شناخت انسان و پیوندهای ادبی فرهنگی ملل میسّر شود. ادبیّات تطبیقی راهی علمی برای این شناخت و تاثیرگذاری است. فردوسی و شکسپیر ستارگان ادبیّات سرزمین خویش و جهان هستند که در خاستگاه اندیشۀ شرق و غرب آثار بی‌نظیری خلق کرده‌اند. اگرچه در بدو امر، داستان سیاوش، روایتی تراژیک همچون اتللو به‌نظر نمی‌رسد، لکن، بررسی اثر، انطباق آن با ویژگی‌های تراژدی را نشان می‌دهد که نوشتاری دیگر می‌طلبد. هدف مقالۀ حاضر که با روش تطبیقی-تحلیلی انجام یافته، بررسی درون‌مایۀ داستان سیاوش از شاهنامۀ فردوسی و اتللو نوشتۀ شکسپیر است که ضمن بررسی مضامین دو اثر و واکاوی داستان‌ها، وجوه مشترک و بعضاً متفاوت آن‌ها آشکار گردید. یافته‌های تحقیق مبیّن این مطلب است که دو شاعر اساس داستان‌های خود را بر توصیف ویژگی‌های اخلاقی بنا نهاده‌اند. در این دو اثر وجود شباهت‌ها بیش از تفاوت‌هاست و «حسادت» عامل مشترک وقوع حوادث بوده است. همچنین نتایج حاصله نشان دهندۀ این نکتۀ مشترک در هر دو تراژدی است که جدال قهرمان و سرنوشت بیش از هر چیز عرصۀ تجلّی خصایصی انسانی، نظیر صداقت و عاطفه است. با این حال تفاوتی مهم که در این قرائت دریافت گردیده حاکی از آن است که شخصیّت های دو داستان انطباق دقیق با همزاد مشخّص خود در تراژدی دیگر ندارند؛ به‌گونه‌ای که شخصیّت سیاوش از برخی جهات منطبق با ویژگی های اخلاقی دِزدمونا و گاهی یادآور ویژگی های اتللوست.

A Comparative Study on Stories of “Siyavash” and “Othello”

Our different perspectives towards the world increases the necessity to investigating literary works in order to know humanity and recognize cultural–literary bonds among all nations. One of the ways to affect these issues is through comparative literature. Ferdowsi and Shakespeare are considered as literature heroes among their own nations as well as other nations in the world. They have created unique masterpieces to the West and East’s views. Although Siyavash’s story does not seem a tragedy like Othello in the beginning, investigating it shows tragedy characteristics that need to be studied upon. The present study aims to investigate the theme Siyavash from ShahnameheFerdowsi and Shakespeare’s Othello via an analyticalcomparative approach. In addition to analyzing the stories and the themes, their similarities and differences were revealed. The results show that both of these poets have established a foundation of their stories based on moral values. Similarities between the two are more than the differences and the common factor causing the events was “envy”. Moreover, the results reveal that the hero’s battle reflects humane characteristics such as honesty and affection more than anything else. Nevertheless, the main difference is that the characters do not precisely resemble their double ganger in other tragedies; in a sense Siyavash is similar to Desdemona’s in terms of moral state and occasionally resembles Othello’s characters.
