   Synthesis, Crystallography, and Antibacterial Activity of a New Cocrystal Copper-Cerium Based on 1,10-Phenanthroline

چکیده    The cocrystal copper-cerium based on 1,10-phenanthroline, [cu(phen)3][ce(phen)(no3)5] (c), was synthesized by condensation of ce(no3)3.6h2o, cu(clo4)2, and 1,10- phenanthroline in ethanol solution. newly synthesized cocrystal was characterized by ft-ir, uv-vis, and elemental analysis. the crystal structure of c was determined by x-ray crystallography. antibacterial activity of compounds was evaluated against two gram-positive s. aureus, s. saprophyticus and one gram-negative p. aeruginosa bacteria, by the disk-diffusion method. the antibacterial efficacy of the compounds in the concentration range of 10-40 μg/d is demonstrated by determining the inhibition zone.
