   Green Synthesis of Carbon Quantum Dots from TrigonellaFoenum-graecum L. Seeds Extract and Investigation of theirCytotoxicity and Photocatalytic Properties

چکیده    In this work, carbon quantum dots (cqds) were synthesizedthrough a simple and efficient hydrothermal method with the usage oftrigonella foenum-graecum l. seeds as a low-cost and green material. thesynthesized cqds was confirmed through the results of ftir, fesem,edax, tem, uv-vis, and pl analyzes. the photocatalytic activity ofcqds was investigated for the degradation of rhodamine b (rhb) dye as atarget pollutant, resulting in the photodegradation percentage of 92% during80 min, which indicates the effective role of cqds in rhb decolorizationunder uva-light irradiation. also, the biocompatibility of cqds wasevaluated on the cancer ct26 cell line through the mtt assay and theconcentration-dependent cytotoxicity of cqds was confirmed along with theic50 value of about 826 μg/ml.
