بحران آب در خاورمیانه

منابع آب به عنوان یک موضوع با اهمیت در صحنه سیاست داخلی کشورها به ویژه در مناطق خشک و کم آب جهان نظیر خاورمیانه از دیرباز مطرح بوده و همچنان اهمیت خود را حفظ کرده است. طبق اعلام مطالعات سازمان ملل متحد کمبود آب، بحرانی حاد در سراسر خاورمیانه می‌باشد. بحرانی که تنها از طریق اعمال برنامه ریزی های کلان و واقع بینانه و مبتنی بر تعاملات بین المللی و با استفاده از تمامی امکانات و ظرفیت‌ها قابل کنترل خواهد بود. این مقاله با استفاده از مطالعات کتابخانهای و اسنادی به مطالعه وضعیت و ابعاد بحران آب در منطقه خاورمیانه و چالشها و راهکارهای حل این مسئله پرداخته است. با توجه به نتایج به دست آمده آینده بحران در کل منطقه خاورمیانه عربی نگران کننده است اما شدت و ضعف آن در همه نقاط و بخشها یکسان نیست و در همه حوزه‌ها هم علل بروز بحران یکی نبوده و به همین دلیل دورنمای بحران نیز در آنها متفاوت است. بحران آب در خلیج فارس عمدتاً ناشی از کمبود طبیعی منابع آبی است و در حال حاضر به دلیل وجود همزمان دلارهای نفتی، همسایگان پرآب و دسترسی آسان به آب دریا جهت اجرای پروژه‌های شیرین سازی آب این بحران کنترل شده است و مادامی که درآمد نفت باشد این شرایط تداوم خواهد یافت. چالش‌های پیش روی بحران آب در خاورمیانه بصورت بالقوه و بالفعل در رابطه منابع آب موجود در منطقه خاورمیانه وجود دارد که بسیاری از عوامل، به نوعی ریشه در مدیریت و نحوه استفاده از منابع آب دارد.
