درخشش گرشاسپ در برخی دست‌نویس‌های شاهنامه

گرشاسپ از بزرگ‌ترین پهلوانان ایران است که پیشینۀ روایات او به دورۀ اقوام هندو ایرانی می‌رسد. به سرگذشت این قهرمان در اوستا و متون فارسی میانه بارها اشاره شده است و بازتاب برخی از پهلوانی‌های اساطیری او را می‌توان در منظومه‌های گرشاسپ‌نامه و سام‌نامه مشاهده کرد. با وجود آوازه و اهمّیت گرشاسپ در ادب پهلوانی ایران، این قهرمان در شاهنامه حضور درخشان و نقش به‌سزایی ندارد. توجّه به همین نکته سبب شد که برخی کاتبان به‌تدریج روایت‌هایی را دربارۀ پهلوانی‌های گرشاسپ به نظم درآورند و در دست‌نویس‌های شاهنامه جای دهند. برای مثال در دست‌نویسی از شاهنامه به‌تاریخ 841ق که در کتابخانۀ بریتانیاست و در تصحیح خالقی‌مطلق، با نشان اختصاری (ل3) از آن یاد می‌شود کاتب هرجا که توانسته ابیاتی را دربارۀ گرشاسپ به متن افزوده است تا بدین روش، حضور او را در شاهنامه برجسته‌تر کند. در این مقاله به بررسی و تحلیل قطعات الحاقی این دست‌نویس و نیز شمار دیگری از دست‌نویس‌های شاهنامه می‌پردازیم و به منابع احتمالی روایات آن‌ها اشاره می‌کنیم.

The grandeur of Garshāsp in some of the manuscripts of the Shāhnāmeh

Garshāsp is one of the greatest antient heroes of Iran whose accounts go back to the period of IndoIranian peoples. Numerous references have been made to this great figure’s life in the Avestā as well as Farsi texts and the echo of some of his mythological heroism can be found in the poems Garshāspnāmeh and Sāmnāmeh. Notwithstanding Garshāsp’s reputation and importance in Iran’s epic literature, this hero has no marked presence and worthy role in the Shahnameh. Attention to this point caused some copyists to gradually versify the accounts about Garshāsp’s heroic feats and insert them in the manuscripts of the Shāhnāmeh .For example, in a manuscript of the Shāhnāmeh at the British Library, dated 841/ 1439 and referred thereto in Khāleqi Motlaq’s edition with the abbreviation sign ل۳, wherever he could, the scribe has added to the text verses about Garshāsp, thus highlighting his presence in the Shāhnāmeh. In this article, the interpolated verses in the abovementioned manuscript as well as some other MSS of the Shahnameh and the likely sources of the stories presented in those verses, have been examined.
