چکیده    A two-dimensional multi-fluid eulerian cfd model according to the kinetic theory of granular flow has been applied to study the influence of hydrodynamic behavior of the bed and catalyst activity (reaction rate constant) on the ozone decomposition reactions in a bubbling fluidized bed reactor. the catalytic ozone decomposition reaction in bubbling fluidized bed reactor often has been used to study the contacting behavior of catalytic reactors and for the validation the numerical methods. for the ozone decomposition studies, thermal effects are unimportant; the amount of ozone present is only small. also, mixing effects are not addressed since the ozone was premixed with the fluidization air.conservation equations of the mass and momentum for each phase were solved usingthe finite volume numerical technique. the profiles of ozone concentration are presented under various bed hydrodynamic conditions and reaction rate constants. the grid-independent results are in very good agreement with reported experimental data on total conversion over a range of fluidization velocities and initial bed heights and catalyst activity. the comparison between results and available experimental data confirms the ability of multiphase hydrodynamic models to study the effect of bed hydrodynamics and catalystactivity (reaction rate constant) on the performance of the bubbling fluidized bed reactors.
