Prevalence of Congenital Anomalies in Karak Governmental Hospital

Objective: this study aims at finding the prevalence of congenital anomalies in karak governmental hospital. methods: there were 2349 reported live births in karak governmental hospital in 2006. the overall prevalence rate of congenital anomalies in karak hospital was found to be 1.28% of live births. results: the total prevalence rate during 2006 was 128/10 000 live births. each anomaly was studied separately and compared with the total reported anomalies. the highest prevalence was found in chromosomal disorders (26.7%) of total reported anomalies. conclusions: the study also revealed some considerable associated factors.
