|
In this issue of squmj, yadav et al. present a very interesting article about opportunistic infections and complications in children infected with human immunodeficiency virus (hiv)-1.1 it is well known that both hiv- 1 and hiv-2 progressively destroy lymphocytes, rendering the patient susceptible to a variety of other infectious agents; these infections are known as opportunistic infections.
