Screening of volatiles of Allium tripedale Trautv. and evaluation of the biologicalactivities of its methanol extract

In this report, the volatile profiles from the flowers, leaves, stems and roots of allium tripedaletrautv. have been characterized using headspace solid phase microextraction (hs-spme)coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (gc/ms). accordingly, high quantities ofnon-terpene hydrocarbons have been identified as the major constituting groups of all therelevant chemical profiles. the impact of the experimental variables has also been optimizedusing design-expert software. in addition, antioxidant and antibacterial properties of themethanol extract of the plant material have been determined. the results of this study revealedthat this plant can be considered a potent antioxidant and antibacterial agent, serving as analternative to chemical drugs.
