در این مقاله، داستان کوتاه «طاووس‌های زرد» نوشته منیرو روانی‌پور از مجموعه‌داستانکنیزو براساس الگوی دیدگاه وجهی روایی سیمپسون (1993) بررسی شده است. مسئله اساسی پژوهش این است که اولاً زاویه دید گزینشی چه احساسی را در مخاطبان به‌وجود می‌آورد و ثانیاً چگونه می‌توان احساس القاشده در متن را بدون تفسیرهای ذوقی اثبات کرد؛ بنابراین نوع راوی و نوع وجهیت غالب بر داستان و کارکرد آن واکاوی شده است. در این تحقیق، داده‌ها برمبنای مقوله‌ها و ابزارهای تحلیلی معرفی‌شده در نظریه سیمپسون مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفته است. روش تحقیق از نوع توصیفی تحلیلی است. بر این اساس، هدف پژوهش آن است که با به‌کارگیری الگوی زبان‌شناختی سیمپسون و کشف قواعدی، به‌روش علمی، تاثیرهای خاص بر مخاطب اثبات شود. راوی داستان مورد بررسی از نوع سوم‌شخص روایی منفی است که با استفاده از «کلمات بیگانگی»، دوری از ورود به احساسات و افکار شخصیت‌ها، تاکید بر ویژگی‌های فیزیکی خاص، بیان حدس‌های خودنمایانه و تکنیک بیگانه‌سازی شخصیت، داستانی وهمناک خلق کرده است.
