Ϊ†Ϊ©ΫŒΨ―Ω‡    The tropical tree known as ceiba pentandra (l.) gaertn belongs to the malvaceae family and is renowned for its many medicinal properties. a reliable, precise, and reproducible method for quantifying the biomarker in c. pentandra (l.) gaertn leaf extract has been developed and validated using high-performance thin layer chromatography. a planar chromatographic technique was developed utilizing a tlc aluminium plates precoated with silica gel 60 f254 and optimized mobile phase. densitometric analysis was carried out at 303 nm which served as the analytical wavelength for measuring naringin in its pure form and in the leaf extract of c. pentandra (l.) gaertn. naringin’s peak, with rf 0.38, was symmetrical and sharp under ideal chromatographic conditions. the biomarker exhibited a linear correlation within the concentration range of 100 to 600 ng per band. naringin was found to have a limit of quantification of 93.09 ng per band and a limit of detection of 30.72 ng per band. the developed method demonstrated robustness, precision, accuracy, and specificity for quantifying naringin in both bulk form and hydroalcoholic leaf extract of c. pentandra (l.) gaertn. to ascertain the ecological impact of the hptlc method, the greenness profile was assessed using the software-based analytical greenness measure (agree) and the green analytical procedure index (gapi).
