بررسی آگاهی و عملکرد دندانپزشکان عمومی درمورد آسیب‌های ناشی از وسایل نوک‌تیز: یک مطالعه مقطعی در شهر یزد در سال 1400

زمینه و اهداف: آسیب های ناشی از وسایل نوک تیز و برنده یکی از مهمترین مشکلاتی هستند که دندانپزشکان را در معرض خطر انتقال عفونت‌های منتقله از راه خون قرار می‌دهند. هدف از مطالعه‌ حاضر تعیین آگاهی و عملکرد دندانپزشکان عمومی شهر یزد درمورد آسیب‌های ناشی از وسایل نو ک‌تیز در سال 1400 بود.مواد و روش‌ها: در این مطالعه مقطعی-توصیفی، پرسشنامه محقق ساخته شامل سه قسمت مشخصات دموگرافیک  سن، جنس، سابقه آسیب، سابقه کار و 11 سوال عملکرد و 14سوال آگاهی طراحی شد. توسط 165 دندانپزشک تکمیل شد. داده‌ها توسط نرم‌افزار spss نسخه 25 و آزمون t- testمستقل و chi-square و همبستگی pearson و one -way anova مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. ملاحظات اخلاقی در تمام مراحل اجرای مطالعه رعایت شد.یافته‌ها: در این مطالعه 57% از دندانپزشکان سابقه آسیب ناشی از وسایل نوک تیز را داشتند. میانگین نمره آگاهی و عملکرد به ترتیب 5/17±24/24 و 3/42±22/62 از حداکثر نمره 28 و 33 بود. نمره آگاهی تنها با محل فعالیت دندانپزشک رابطه آماری معناداری داشت (p<0/001)؛ درحالی که نمره عملکرد به جنسیت، محل فعالیت و سابقه آسیب ناشی از وسایل نوک‌تیز رابطه آماری معناداری داشت. علاوه براین بین نمرات آگاهی و عملکرد ضریب همبستگی معناداری یافت شد (p<0/001).نتیجه‌گیری: بر اساس نتایج بدست آمده از این مطالعه گرچه دانش دندانپزشکان در مورد  آسیبهای ناشی از وسایل نوک‌ تیز قابل قبول بود، اما عملکرد مطلوب نبود. برگزاری برنامه‌های آموزشی مرتبط می‌تواند، عملکرد دندانپزشکان را بهبود ببخشد.

evaluating the knowledge and practice of yazd general dentists toward needle stick injuries (nsi) in 2022

background and aims: injuries caused by sharps and needles are one of the most important problems that put dentists in the throes of exposure to dangerous blood-borne diseases. this study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and practice of dentists in yazd about needle stick injuries in 2022.materials and methods: in this cross-sectional study, a researcher-made questionnaire was used. the questionnaire encompassed three parts including demographic characteristics (age, gender, injury history, work history), performance (11 questions), and awareness (14 questions). it was completed by 165 dentists. data were analyzed using t-test and chi-square, one-way anova and pearson correlation by spss 25. ethical considerations were also observed at all stages of the study.results: in this study, 57% of dentists reported to have previous needle stick injuries. the mean scores of knowledges and practice were 24.24±5.17 and 22.62± 3.42 of the maximum scores of 28 and 33, respectively. knowledge score had a statistically significant relationship only with the workplace of dentist activity (p <0.001); while practice score had a statistically significant relationship with gender, workplace, and history of needle stick injury. in addition, a significant correlation was found between knowledge and practice scores (p <0.001).conclusion: based on the findings, although dentists' knowledge toward nsi was acceptable, the practice was inadequate. the related educational programs could reinforce their practice.
