بررسی آگاهی و عملکرد دندانپزشکان عمومی در رابطه با آموزش بهداشت به بیماران استفاده کننده از دست دندان

زمینه و اهداف: در آموزش و انگیزش بیماران بی‌دندان در مورد رعایت بهداشت دست دندان، دندانپزشکان نقش مهمی دارند. از این رو مطالعه حاضر با هدف بررسی آگاهی و عملکرد دندانپزشکان عمومی در خصوص ارائه‌ی آموزش‌های مربوط به رعایت بهداشت و نگهداری دست دندان به بیماران بی‌دندان انجام شد. مواد و روش‌ها: این مطالعه توصیفی- مقطعی بر روی دندانپزشکان عمومی شهر یزد که درمان پروتز کامل انجام می‌دادند در سال 1399 انجام شد. در مطالعه، از پرسشنامه محقق ساخته استفاده گردید که روایی پرسشنامه توسط پنل خبرگان تایید شد و پایایی پرسشنامه با آلفای کرونباخ برای سوالات آگاهی معادل 0.8 و عملکرد 0.7 تایید شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم افزار آماری spss17 و آزمون‌‌های آماری t-test و ضریب همبستگی پیرسون تجزیه و تحلیل شد. همچنین ملاحظات اخلاقی در تمام مراحل اجرای مطالعه رعایت شد. یافته‌ها: در این مطالعه 130 دندانپزشک عمومی با میانگین سنی 7.87 ±34.32 سال و میانگین سابقه کاری 7.04 ±8.67 شرکت نمودند. میانگین نمره آگاهی دندانپزشکان مورد بررسی 2.11 ±11.49 از 18 نمره بود. ارتباط آماری معنا‌داری بین میانگین نمره‌ی آگاهی با سن، جنسیت و سابقه کار دندانپزشکان وجود داشت (0.05>p- value). تفاوت آماری معنی‌داری در عملکرد دندانپزشکان بر حسب میانگین سن و سابقه کار، جنسیت و همچنین شرکت در بازآموزی مرتبط مشاهده نشد (05/ 0

general dental practitioners' knowledge and practice about the oral hygiene instruction to denture wearers

background and aims: dentists play a pivotal role in educating and motivating toothless patients who wearer denture in order to maintain their denture hygiene. therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the general dental practitioners' knowledge and practice towards oral hygiene instruction to denture wearers.materials and methods:this descriptive-cross-sectional study was conducted on general dentists in yazd who performed full denture treatment in 2020. in the study, a researcher-made questionnaire was used. the validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts, and the reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed with cronbach's alpha of 0.8 for knowledge questions and 0.7 for efficiency. data were analyzed by spss 17 software through t-test and pearson correlation coefficient.results: in this study, 130 general dentists with a mean age of 34.32±7.87 years old and a mean work experience of 8.67±7.04 participated. the mean score of knowledge of dentists was 11.49±2.11 out of 18 scores. there was a statistically significant relationship between the mean knowledge score and age, gender and work experience of dentists (p-value <0.05). there observed no statistically significant difference in the practice of dentists in mean age, work experience, gender, and attending retraining courses (p-value <0.05).conclusion: in view of the limitations of study, the results showed that dentists' knowledge about training patients on how to clean their dentures was moderate. furthermore, the knowledge of younger dentists with less work experience was higher than other dentists. nevertheless, most of dentists practiced satisfactorily.
